Happy Japanniversary to me. Would you believe I've been in Japan 3 years today?
Me neither.
I have to wonder, am I crazy because I've been here 3 years, or have I been here 3 years because I'm crazy? What's the cause/effect? Hard to say.

THREE YEARS?!?!
That is insane.
I still miss you, K.
Can't wait to see you.

Siddharth, thank you! I miss Journeywoman too. I hope she'll be back soon, she's a great writer, and she's always been very kind and supportive of me.
Um, as for your question... that's a tough one. I've been trying to answer this question for 3 years. I've started to write an entry about it hundreds of times maybe in the last year and a half or so of this blog. Maybe every time I write anything at all here, it originates as an attempt to answer that question, then is deleted, and is born anew as something about kindergarteners or human-faced fish or whatever my current distraction is.
What I mean to say is, that's a very good question, I wish I knew the answer, there are many many answers, and one of these days I mean to get down to really answering it. When I do, you'll see it here.
Thank you again.

Three years! Wow. I have been following your blog for some time now... just one of two blogs which would give me an insight into Japan. Journeywoman stopped writing unfortunately, so u're the only one who gives that foreigner's veiwpoint of life in Japan. I like your blog a lot. Hopefully you'll keep writing. By the way, I keep wondering what are you doing in Japan? And why? Did you cover this in some old blog entry that i might have missed?
